HUMAIN M3 Voluntary Research Access Addendum

Effective Date: 31 August 2026
Last Updated: 31 August 2026

This Voluntary Research Access Addendum (“Addendum”) supplements the Terms for voluntary access to HUMAIN M3 through Node's Playground and, where enabled, API, where HUMAIN's safeguards, applied as a filtering layer before and after the Model, may be reduced or removed (“Research Access”). It is issued by AL-MUSTAQBAL LIL-THAKA AL-IISTINAI COMPANY (HUMAIN), at King Fahd District 3254, King Fahd Branch Street 7295, Postal Code 12262, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

VOLUNTARY OPT-IN. Research Access is optional and separate from Guarded Access. Any eligible adult user may request it. HUMAIN may select, verify, approve, condition, pause or revoke participants. No academic, professional or institutional research credential and no formal test plan are required.

ACTIVATION CONDITION. Research Access will not begin unless the participant completes the electronic acceptance, consents and heightened-risk acknowledgement and HUMAIN issues an activation notice through the interface, account, dashboard, email or another designated channel.

HEIGHTENED CONTENT WARNING. Research Access may intentionally expose you to extreme, illegal, false, discriminatory, sexual, violent, extremist, self-harm, malware-related, abusive, graphic or culturally offensive content. Exposure may be unexpected and psychologically distressing. Do not rely on, follow, execute, share, publish or operationalize any Output.

The Terms, Model Terms, AUP, current Provider Register and Privacy Notice continue to apply. This Addendum creates a narrow exception only for activated Research Access and only within the enabled access parameters. It cannot waive applicable law.

1. Eligibility, Request and Verification

You may request Research Access if you are at least eighteen (18), legally capable of accepting this Addendum, eligible to use the Preview from your location and willing to participate voluntarily. You do not need to be a researcher by profession or affiliation.

You must provide accurate identity, age, country, contact and other information HUMAIN reasonably requests for verification, eligibility, sanctions, security or wellbeing controls. HUMAIN may use identity-verification services and lawful public or professional sources as described in the Privacy Notice.

HUMAIN may choose participants randomly, through invitations, from applicants or through another fair operational method, and may approve, reject, condition, defer or revoke access in its discretion. Selection creates no entitlement, employment, consultancy, compensation, credit, publication or future access.

You must disclose any change affecting eligibility, identity, location, access security or ability to comply. You must not apply for an undisclosed third party or allow any other person to use or observe your Research Access.

2. Electronic Acceptance and Activation

You accept this Addendum by selecting a separate unticked electronic control presented with the current Addendum and Provider Register. You must also complete the separate data consents and heightened-risk acknowledgement. Applying, receiving a message or having technical access does not replace acceptance, consent or activation.

Research Access begins only when HUMAIN issues an activation notice. The notice or interface settings may identify the enabled access period, HUMAIN M3 version or configuration, Playground or API access, content categories, prompt or token budget, session duration, concurrency, storage controls, rate limits, reporting channel and other safeguards (Activated Parameters).

Access is personal and may be provided through the Playground and, where enabled, the API using credentials assigned to you. HUMAIN does not distribute a Node-specific SDK, although the API may be accessed directly or through compatible third-party client libraries. You must not share credentials, delegate access, enable observation by another person, or expose Research Access through a public, customer-facing, multi-tenant, production or third-party end-user service. Automated agents, scraping and batch prompting are permitted only where the Activated Parameters expressly enable them.

HUMAIN may change, narrow, throttle, pause or revoke Activated Parameters or end a session immediately. An activation notice does not waive applicable law or a Provider Requirement outside the corresponding enabled Research Access exception.

3. Purpose and Method

Research Access is made available to help HUMAIN review and further develop HUMAIN M3, including its safety, security, quality, Arabic and multilingual performance, safeguards and regional or cultural alignment. HUMAIN may evaluate the prompts and Outputs directly; you are not required to follow a formal test plan or submit a formal report.

Within the Activated Parameters, you may explore model behaviour that HUMAIN's filtering-layer safeguards would otherwise block, use your own reasonable evaluation approach and provide optional ratings or feedback. Use the least harmful interaction reasonably sufficient and stop once material risk becomes apparent.

You may not use Research Access for commercial services, entertainment likely to create harm, advocacy, surveillance, dataset creation, competitive benchmarking, your own model training, publicity, teaching, operational activity or any purpose outside this Addendum.

4. Assumption of Heightened Risk and Wellbeing

You understand that HUMAIN's filtering-layer safeguards may be reduced, removed, inconsistent or fail completely and that exposure may have emotional or psychological effects during or after a session. Participation is voluntary. Use a private, controlled environment, take reasonable wellbeing precautions and stop if continued access creates material risk to you or another person.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume foreseeable risks inherent in exposure to experimental reduced-safeguard Outputs. This does not waive a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived. HUMAIN does not provide medical or psychological advice or support through Research Access.

5. Research Conduct

You must follow the Activated Parameters, Preview documents, Provider Register, HUMAIN instructions and all laws applicable to you and your activity. In particular, you must:

  1. use synthetic or fictitious examples wherever possible and avoid personal, confidential, privileged, sensitive, regulated, classified or live-system data;
  2. not target an actual person or encourage, threaten, harass, defame, discriminate against, dox, surveil or exploit anyone;
  3. not create, possess or distribute unlawful material beyond transient display lawfully permitted for the activated evaluation;
  4. not open links, execute code or commands, install software, acquire materials, contact targets, access accounts or systems, or take real-world action based on an Output;
  5. not test against a third-party system, account, network, device or dataset without the owner's express authorization and HUMAIN approval;
  6. not extract model weights, training data, hidden prompts, system configuration, secrets or another user's data, or circumvent account, session, prompt, storage or rate controls;
  7. not allow another person to access, observe, record or direct a session; and
  8. stop and report a credible imminent-harm risk, active compromise or personal-data exposure through the urgent interface channel.

6. Confidentiality and No Publication

Your application, access status, Activated Parameters, model or safeguard configuration, prompts, Outputs, screenshots, recordings, vulnerabilities, evaluations, findings, reports, communications and other non-public information learned or created through Research Access are Research Materials and HUMAIN Confidential Information.

DISCLOSURE TO HUMAIN ONLY. You may use Research Materials only for activated participation and may disclose them only to HUMAIN through the designated private channel. You must not publish, present, post, share, teach, submit to a conference, journal or preprint server, disclose to media or a third party, use for publicity or otherwise make Research Materials or findings public unless HUMAIN expressly authorizes it.

The restriction does not apply to information you can document was lawfully known without restriction before access, becomes public through no breach, is independently developed without Research Materials or is lawfully received without restriction. If law requires disclosure, notify HUMAIN in advance where lawful, seek protective treatment and disclose only the minimum required.

7. Reports, Feedback and Licence

You may provide ratings, comments or reports through the interface or private reporting channel. Report imminent harm or active security compromise immediately. Do not unnecessarily reproduce harmful content; use redaction and synthetic identifiers.

You retain ownership of your pre-existing methods and tools. You grant HUMAIN a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, combine, share confidentially with service providers and implement findings, reports and feedback for safety, compliance, evaluation, training and further development. This licence does not replace personal-data consent.

8. Recording, Review, Training and Further Development

Every Research Access prompt and response is recorded and linked to your verified account with model, safeguard, session and technical data. Research Access is not private or zero-retention.

Authorized HUMAIN reviewers may review any session live or afterward. Authorized reviewers working for HUMAIN's model technology provider may also receive and review interactions under applicable contractual, confidentiality, access-control and data-protection requirements.

Subject to the Privacy Notice and required separate affirmative electronic consent, HUMAIN and its model technology provider may use selected prompts, Outputs, ratings and feedback to review, evaluate, benchmark, train, fine-tune and further develop HUMAIN M3 and its related safeguards, in accordance with HUMAIN's provider arrangements and applicable law.

Raw user-linked interactions are ordinarily retained for twelve (12) months, then deleted or effectively de-identified unless longer retention is required by law or for a documented claim. Selected effectively de-identified data may be retained longer where re-identification is not reasonably possible.

You may withdraw the Research Access opt-in at any time through the interface. This ends Research Access but does not by itself end eligible Guarded Access. Withdrawal of an integral logging or model-improvement consent ends all new Preview interactions. Lawfully completed processing remains unaffected.

9. Access Security and Evidence Handling

Use only your verified account and approved Playground or API credentials in a private, secured environment. Protect credentials, prevent observation or recording, lock unattended devices and promptly report suspected compromise.

Do not share an account, screen or session; delegate testing; connect an unauthorized tool, plug-in, model, agent or automated system; or move Research Materials to an unapproved system. A compatible third-party client library used only to access an enabled API is not prohibited by this paragraph.

Unless HUMAIN enables otherwise, do not screenshot, download, print, copy or locally retain prompts or Outputs. A permitted report must contain only the minimum evidence and use the designated safeguards and reporting channel.

10. Monitoring, Suspension and End of Access

HUMAIN may monitor, warn, throttle, pause, preserve or end a session; change Activated Parameters; require safeguards; or suspend or terminate Research Access immediately for safety, security, privacy, law, provider compliance, investigation, integrity or protection of any person.

When Research Access ends, stop testing and accessing Research Materials and promptly delete any local copy except a report already submitted or material HUMAIN directs you to retain. Confirm deletion if requested.

Confidentiality, no publication, evidence handling, feedback licences, disclaimers, liability, deletion, governing law and provisions intended to survive will continue.

11. Experimental Output Disclaimer and Liability

RESEARCH ACCESS, HUMAIN M3 AND OUTPUTS ARE EXPERIMENTAL AND PROVIDED 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE.' HUMAIN DOES NOT WARRANT ACCESS, REPRODUCIBILITY, SAFEGUARD OPERATION, ACCURACY, SAFETY, LEGALITY, REMEDIATION OR REWARD.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER HUMAIN NOR AN UNDERLYING MODEL TECHNOLOGY PROVIDER IS RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE TO YOU FOR AN OUTPUT, EXPOSURE TO RESEARCH CONTENT, A SAFEGUARD FAILURE, A FINDING OR A DECISION OR ACTION BASED ON AN OUTPUT. THE DISCLAIMERS AND LIABILITY LIMITS IN THE TERMS APPLY FULLY.

Nothing excludes liability, rights or remedies that applicable law does not permit to be excluded. Provider references create no direct contract, benefit or enforcement right.

12. Participant Acknowledgements

By accepting this Addendum you confirm that:

  1. you are an eligible adult, your verification information is accurate and participation is voluntary;
  2. Research Access is personal, available only through the enabled Playground or API, limited by Activated Parameters and may be withdrawn immediately;
  3. HUMAIN's filtering-layer safeguards may be reduced or removed and content may be extreme, unlawful, offensive or distressing;
  4. every prompt and response is recorded, reviewable and may be used for training and further development under your separate consent;
  5. you remain responsible for every Input, Output and action and will not operationalize harmful content;
  6. you will disclose Research Materials only to HUMAIN and will not publish them; and
  7. you will comply with the current Provider Register and delete Research Materials when required.

Required separate heightened-risk acknowledgement: I understand that HUMAIN may reduce or remove its filtering-layer safeguards for Research Access and that I may be exposed to extreme, unlawful, offensive or psychologically distressing content. I voluntarily choose to participate. Every interaction is recorded and may be reviewed and used by HUMAIN and its model technology provider, with my separate consent, to evaluate, train and further develop HUMAIN M3 and its related safeguards. I will not share, publish or operationalize any Research Material.

13. Changes and General Terms

HUMAIN may update this Addendum, Provider Register or Activated Parameters. Material contractual changes require renewed affirmative electronic acceptance, and processing changes require fresh consent where applicable. HUMAIN may suspend access pending implementation.

The governing law, disputes, language, notices, assignment, severability and general provisions in the Terms apply. This Addendum controls only for activated Research Access and only within the enabled exception; otherwise the more restrictive applicable requirement controls.
